Árhvammur, our wonderful country house is both a modern and a cozy riverfront home with amazing views. It is close to the Golden Circle and many other great attraction, located near the renowned swimming pool , Laugaskarð in Hveragerði, a unique geothermal town, only 30 minutes from Reykjavík.
The house is very spacious 200 m2 (2153 sqft) with a big open family/ kitchen area, 4 spacious bedrooms (sleeps 10 easily) and 3 bathrooms.
The spacious deck is wonderful for outdoor enjoyment, w/ hot tub and a barbecue grill.
The property itself is located on a private land 12000 m2 (3 acres) with beautiful mountain view and the river Varmá runs through with a magical and calm feeling.
Following is the room arrangement to look at:
1. Master bedroom with a king size bed and a walk in closet and a private
bathroom with a shower and a sink, but without a toilette.
2. Bedroom with one queen size bed and a daybed (the queen can also be separate two singles)
3. Bedroom with one queen size bed and a kid´s bed
4. Bedroom with a queen size bed or used as two single beds
5. There are two more wonderful bathrooms in the house, one with a good
spacious shower and one with a big bathtub.
6. There are some extra mattresses to be used too.
There is wifi/internet in the house.
The house is on a private land with plenty of parking in front of it.
It takes 30 minutes to drive from Reykjavik to Hveragerði.
Great open kitchen/living area and plenty of spacious bedrooms in separate wings for privacy and a great family vacation.

Summary: This home was absolutely perfect! We all loved the decor as well as the location of the property. It has a beautiful view of the surrounding river and tree lines. Very close to so many beautiful locations as well as shopping and wonderful restaurants. We were very happy with this home and the hosts. They are very responsive and answer messages quickly. If I am ever back in Iceland, I would not hesitate to book this fantastic home.
