Topsail Island is a 26-mile barrier island off the North Carolina coastline just north of Wilmington. The island varies in width between 500 feet and 1500 feet and protects dozens of marine and wildlife refuges.

At the island’s northernmost tip, you will find North Topsail Beach. Midway on the island is Surf City, and locals refer to the southernmost tip as Topsail Beach. With so many great vacation rentals along the coast, it’s no wonder this is such a popular North Carolina beach destination.

When visiting Topsail Island, North Carolina, things are pure beach and fun in the sun, and there are plenty of local places to eat, drink and relax. Topsail Island restaurants offer an impressive variety of dining options, from oyster bars to hot dog stands. Not surprisingly, seafood is king, but there is something for every taste.
