Beautiful and unique holiday home in a tranquil setting, with fabulous views towards the sea. Pant Golau House (meaning valley of light in Welsh) is a spacious detached 4 bedroom house surrounded by nature in Snowdonia National Park and set in a recently landscaped garden complete with stream and "ancient' ruin
I am proud to say Pant Golau is a beautiful, quirky and unusual space; however, it might not be suitable for everyone. Please check out 'Other details to note ' before booking.
The space
The artist led design, gives a contemporary and stylish take on the original 70s features. The location is delightful offering stunning views towards the open fields, marina and coast a short walk away and a wonderful array of local wild and farm life; the birds are notable for their diversity. Despite its tranquil setting, its perfectly located for the convenience of modern life being only a 5 minute walk to the station and coast road and not much further to the village of Llanbedr with its splendid array of shops and eateries . Harlech Castle a UNESCO World heritage site is only 3 miles away and its local golf course, Royal Saint Davids, has been voted one of the Uk's top 100 courses. With the fabulous Welsh coast line to one side and the mountains the other this family (and pet) friendly holiday home, including a games room, is truly a wonderful place for a break. The recently landscaped gardens also allow you relax at home and enjoy a range of garden amenities, seating areas , lawns and terraces, a stream and even "raiders of the ark style ruin . The gardens are securely fenced allowing you to manage the opportunities for pets and children as you choose.

Pant Golau House
This is a period house which has kept many of the original 1970s fixtures and features, they were in excellent condition because they had been used so rarely ( about once or twice a year we have been told ) and it was great fun to give this 70s house a contemporary update which we really love; Orla Kiely patterns along with original mid century furniture and 70s colour, art and vintage objects.
You might however prefer super modern kitchens and bathrooms, like your furniture brand new and a generally a more conventional house. Please read on and check pics for more info .
Garden Area
The main outdoor space has recently undergone extensive landscaping and remodeling. It now includes a terraced lawned area close to the house , accessible with steps and behind secure fencing so very manageable for children and pets . The grass is not suitable for heavy use but perfect for croquet , boule etc . ( It has only just been laid , so will be bedding in for the next few months and should not be walked upon before April 14th )
The Patio facing the coast is ( still ) a bit of a work in progress , it’s a nice space but has a home built feel because we have used bricks to secure some loose paving slabs.
The cleaners don’t automatically clean the outside barbecue so if you want to use it please clean before and afterwards and leave as you would like it for the next user . Gas is on us.
Cleaning
Its a big house in the country , its very hard to keep on top of all the nature and be perfect but our cleaners do try thank you for your understanding. Linen and house keeping costs are charged at the going rate: we are happy to support the local economy.
Location
It is a village location and sounds, including vehicles from the coast road, trains, and on rare occasion even planes from the local airport can be heard: Never the less, it's still a beautifully tranquil location.
Parking
The drive is tarmac overlaid with slate shale with plenty of space for cars ( 4-4) , There is a gate which closes .
Children
We have a stair gate at one end (push down and right to lock and confirm engagement ) , a gate on the balcony (please close bolt every time you use) by the fire escape and window safety locks . Cleaning products are and should be stored above worktop level in the cupboard to the right of kitchen sink.
Fencing 3 feet high, creates a wrap around safe out door space around the house. and beyond . Never the less, please assess the house yourself and make your own judgements for your family and pet safety; especially near the stream.
Pets
Two small dogs (and cats I guess) allowed on the non-carpeted floors and off furniture please. Please bring rugs and beds if possible.
There are often farm animals very close . If your dogs are good with boundaries they will probably stay within the fenced area of the house which is pretty secure, but I would advise all pet owners to assess the boundaries to consider the security of their animals and the farm animals around.
Bedrooms
Upstairs there are two medium sized bedrooms (one with a double and one with a twin or super king and one small bedroom (with a small double) running off a hallway with a shared bathroom.
Downstairs is a large bedroom suite with a king sized bed, and down the corridor a shower room and toilet, it has a cloak room sink and small cabinet with shaver light. The downstairs bedroom is big enough to be a family room. We do have a mattress available if you want to share the space with your child.

Electric Car Charging .
Electric car charging can be very expensive ( from £25-50 for a full charge ) these days and is chargeable ( no pun intended ! We mean you have to pay us ).
