Positive: We arrived late and left early, but saw lots of wildlife on the way in (wombat, possums, bandicoots) as it’s really in the bush. If we had more time we defiantly would have explored the walks on offer. Showers were great for a bush campsite and the place was generally clean.
Negative: The whole site seemed quite run down, all the play areas seemed quite sad especially if this was chosen for a family holiday- photos on booking.com do not look like the campsite currently. Toilets smelt awful due to compost toilets, but 100% the worst I have ever smelt, even worse than mainland outback truck-stop toilets!! I called during the day to say we would arrive after hours, as per information sent out via messages the key and instructions could be left out. The receptionist told me it would be no problem to arrive late and someone would be there instead of leaving a key out. When we arrived the staff member practically ignored me to carry on with task, and was quite rude and made us feel guilty for arriving late, despite calling earlier in the day. It did the job for us arriving after 9.30pm and leaving before 7.30am, but wouldn’t spend much longer than that!
