IF THIS IS BOOKED, try our other property on the lake # 3047364. Time to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life! Lazy Daze Villa is the perfect place to escape. With breathtaking lake and wooded views surrounding the property, a porch that calls to you as you arrive and a dock that is great for fishing or just relaxing in the sun, there is something for everyone. This spectacular custom built 3 story, 5 bedroom, 4 bath 2 kitchen house is perfect for a family reunion or larger friend gathering. Main level consists of the balcony with stunning views of George's Lake, the great room and kitchen with a table that can fit 12 guests, and the owner's suite (king bed) with bathroom. Top floor has 2 more bedrooms (2 doubles in one room, queen & twin in other) and a bathroom with laundry. The lower level with fondly call the "Bunker" has a walk out patio with full outdoor bathroom, full kitchen, bath and 2 more bedrooms (king in one, 2 twins in other) the great room has pullout couch/bed. There is plenty of outdoor furniture from the upper and lower patios to the fire pit and the dock. Come and enjoy the good life on George's Lake!!

Summary: We've been doing "family getaways" for three summers now, and this was - by far - the best appointed house, and the most inviting property we've had yet in our price range. It takes some effort to get to Florahome (some dirt roads, forest service roads may be involved depending on how much your GPS app hates you) so it genuinely feels like the middle of nowhere. But then you're on George's Lake with that view! I bird-watched from the second deck, looking out into the live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. We paddled kayaks (provided by the owner) and swam off the dock with the kids almost every day. Furthermore this was a great home base for exploring the St. Johns River region - Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and of course, little Pelatka, the nearby town small enough to be cute, but big enough to have all the amenities. [Pelatka was our go-to spot for supplies, about half hour away]. Final note - as Yankees we were a bit apprehensive booking this property so many months ago, wondering about hurricane season, but we got off lucky. Otherwise northeast Florida in August is hot, hot, hot (95+ every day; no great surprise) but the A/C in the house was cool, cool, cool, and swimming in the lake and the ocean was fun, fun, fun!
