Living Spaces
Let the chirp of crickets lull you to sleep and the bubbling of the fountain on the nearby pond gently wake you in the morning. This is a real covered wagon made specifically for camping, with many of the luxuries you’d find at home—and some of the rustic style you’d only find on the range. The main living, sleeping, and dining area here is an open-plan space with enough room to relax on the comfy upholstered chairs and enjoy a glass of wine or your morning coffee by the warmth of the electric fireplace. By day, golden light filters in through the canopy, casting everything in a warm glow.
Kitchen & Dining
The Couples Wagon has its own kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, toaster, and Keurig coffee maker: everything you need to fix a quick breakfast before heading out to hug a pony or cuddle a cow. Find more kitchen amenities in our cozy nearby farmhouse.
Enjoy your meals at the dining table with comfortable upholstered seating for 2.
Bedrooms & Baths
Bed down in a comfy king-size bed fitted with luxury linens and rustic quilts reminiscent of something passed down from generation to generation. The wagon has its own private bath with shower and elegant touches like hammered copper sink and all the toiletries you need for a comfortable stay.
Outdoor Amenities
The Couples Wagon shares a large, dreamy courtyard space with the farm’s family wagon. Lit by string lights, this is the spot to grill out on the charcoal BBQ, enjoy a meal al fresco at the picnic table, and watch the fireflies dart to and fro. Spend time cuddled around the campfire—we supply the logs (for a $15 donation) which includes a fire starter and colorful display packet, you bring the marshmallows! We’ve also provided fun outdoor games for your enjoyment here.
Take advantage of the beautifully-lit covered seating area for quality time spent together in the shade. You’ll also find a netted picnic area that’s perfect for keeping unwanted critters out.
PLEASE NOTE:
The Couples Wagon is located near an unfenced pond; children must be supervised at all times.
Unfortunately, the wagons cannot accommodate pets due to the presence of our own animals on-site.
A baby bundle is available upon request for $35/stay. This includes a travel crib, high chair and baby bath.
Located in Melrose, Florida, Rooterville Animal Sanctuary is a working farm and home to nearly 100 rescued animals. We give a loving forever home to farm animals who have suffered abuse and neglect. Our love for our resident animals–or, as we refer to them, ambassadors— shows! They are eager to get to know you, cuddle you, and, of course, be fed lots of treats. Get up close and personal with Tinsel the cow, Billy Bob the tom turkey, Poppy, Lilly Bug, and Junior the pigs, and many others. Since 2004, founder Elaine West has worked tirelessly to give a home to animals in need—but there are many more animals we have to turn away each week. Your stay at Rooterville helps us afford to welcome even more animals in need to our farm.
Rooterville is home to a charming gift shop, where you can purchase “Roo-venirs” of your stay with us and our wonderful animals. You’ll also find dining and shopping options nearby, including the Blue Water Bay Restaurant. Bring your boat and launch it on Lake Santa Fe, an off-the-radar hotspot for sporting.
