Let’s Go!
Workshop Kitchen + Bar
Address: 800 N Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, California
Located in the Palm Springs, Uptown Design District, just off of Palm Canyon, with a prestigious James Beard Design Award, this retrofitted 90-year-old movie theatre is dripping with ambiance and class. Their menu is a local fave with small plates and shareable dishes made of locally sourced ingredients. We recommend the veggie enchiladas and the runner beans. They also do a fantastic ribeye. But where they really shine is with their craft cocktails and their alcohol punch bowl that serves up to 12 people. So grab your crew and hit the patio but make sure to call ahead for a reservation because anyone who visits Palm Springs also visits Workshop. If you go later in the evening, try to get a spot on the outdoor patio where drinks under the desert sky will be everything you dreamed of on your desert getaway.
Sandfish
Address: 1556 N Palmsharedon Drive, Palm Springs, California
Sandfish is a compelling combo of sushi and whiskey with award-winning sushi Chef Engin Onural at the helm. This dining experience is world-class, coupled with an unusual & creative cocktails menu. Guests here always leave planning their next visit. For that reason, you’ll want to set up a reservation or call ahead for takeout because this sushi in the desert is unexpectedly good.
Mr.Lyons Steakhouse
Address: 622 N Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, California
Not to be missed is Mr. Lyons Steakhouse, named “The Top Steakhouse in Palm Springs” by Palm Springs Life Magazine. Loved by all for the glamorous ambiance, top-notch service, food and drinks menu, Mr. Lyons Steakhouse is the perfect spot for a romantic date night. Their twist on classic steakhouse fare with fresh, locally sourced ingredients truly is a farm-to-table experience. If you’re feeling like a more laid-back evening, Mr. Lyons also offers a relaxed atmosphere in their classy lounge. Happy hour happens every night from 4-7 pm. See you there!
King’s Highway
Address: 701 E Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, California
Delicious food with a side of jazz! All are welcome here, at this bohemian desert diner and cozy bar. We recommend planning to visit for brunch between 8-2 pm. Their breakfast menu is simple but delicious. Order the grits; they are to die for. We’re also thinking it could be the perfect antidote to a hangover after a night of dancing at last night’s after-party.
Pro tip: Add their Verde Mary to your order (their version of the bloody mary) – you can thank us later!
Cheeky‘s
Address: 622 N Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, California
This buzzing breakfast hotspot is quite possibly the best brunch experience in Palm Springs. Fresh local ingredients mean that the menu is constantly changing, and people return week after week to see what kind of quirky twist the chefs at Cheeky’s have thought up for their highly sought-after breakfast fare. Fun dishes like their bacon-flight…yep, you heard that right. The bacon flight is a sampling of five different flavoured bacon strips that you can choose to wash down with a spicy bloody mary, blueberry shandy (yum!) or an American coffee and bourbon. This place is delicious, bright and cheery and has a killer drinks menu. Don’t hesitate; you’re going to love it!
Copley’s
Address: 621 N Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, California
You simply can’t go to Palm Springs and not go to Copley’s. Located just off of Palm Canyon is this lovely rustic cottage where Cary Grant once lived that’s been transformed into an iconic steakhouse.
It’s the perfect combination of ambiance, service, food and location. If you choose to eat here and we recommend you do, you won’t be disappointed. They pride themselves on offering their guests a 5-star experience, and it shows. For beautiful views and fine dining, call ahead to see if you can get a table in the courtyard where you can imagine Hollywood’s biggest stars from the past once sat, taking in the scenery and smoking their cigars. Make sure at the end of your meal that you leave room for their homemade ice cream. The additional calories will be worth every drop – we promise.
Birba
622 N Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, California
Another restaurant that oozes with ambiance is Birba. Serving up authentic southern Italian fare, you’ll be wowed by their simple rustic pizzas, fluffy dough, and delectable meatballs perfect for sharing. Guests love the outdoor seating. With lights strung overhead and around the trees, you’ll feel as though you’ve been transported to an eatery in Sicily. One tip we have to pass along is to try the butterscotch pudding, the perfect blend of sweetness and a bit of sea salt. It’s a true chef’s kiss moment!
Melvyn’s
Are you an old movie buff? Does the idea of eating where Old Blue Eyes would once grab a mic and serenade the dining room or where Zsa Zsa Gabor was once a regular make you swoon? Then Dah-ling, you simply MUST get a table at Melvyn’s. With all the glitz and glam of yesteryear, this is an experience you can’t miss. From the moment you arrive, you’ll know you’re somewhere special with the beautifully manicured grounds, waiters dressed in chic suit jackets, and the maitre’d dressed in a full tux. At Melvyn’s, elegance is the name of the game. Perhaps decide to arrive a bit early for drinks in the bar aptly named Casablanca, where you can enjoy the live piano music. You also won’t want to forget your dancing shoes for when the dance floor opens up. Fred Astaire, eat your heart out!
The Rooster And The Pig
Address: 356 S Indian Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, California
Hugely popular with the locals, this Vietnamese – American fusion restaurant offering lots of small plates and “shareables” is a hit if you’re looking for a break from traditional American fare. With its convenient location, downtown Palm Springs and reputation for great takeout, The Rooster And The Pig has it going on. Chef Tai Spendley prides himself on using locally sourced in-season ingredients, so come back often for their ever-changing, creative menu. There’s always something new to tantalize your tastebuds.
Felipe’s
Stop the car!!!!! Do not miss out on some of the best tacos in the area because you just drove by. Many tourists miss this place, and that’s tragic because Felipe’s consistently serves up great Mexican food and margaritas with a massive tequila selection. Felipe’s is also located close to the international airport, making it the first and last stop travellers who regularly come to Palm Springs make when they arrive and before they fly out. This place is a true taste of Mexico.
Eight4Nine
Address: 849 N Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, California
The aesthetics alone at Eight4Nine are enough to make you want to visit again and again. This restaurant is a clean, crisp white with bright pink contrast, chic outdoor dining and a bar that screams opulence and comfort. If there was ever a bar that encapsulated the vibe of Palm Springs, this is it. But they don’t leave you there. Their menu is equally as good and was named one of the Travelers’ Choice Best Of The Best.
We’ve never seen a place more perfect for a Sunday brunch with the girls. Their brunch menu is drool-worthy, and we’ve got our eye on their Coachella lime pie. The only thing we can’t decide is what to wear.
