Nye Beach
About a century ago, Nye Beach was known as the honeymoon capital of the entire globe. Back then, this beach and nearby areas were known as a resort-town. This beach town is still very much romantic and has numerous upscale factors and charming qualities.
For instance, the beach tends to be free of crowds and has plenty of space where you can walk in the sand with your beloved holding hands. You can also go for a nice swim in the summer and possibly bring a kayak to paddle around the harbor.
The region looks more like a European city than the United States, with tiny streets making their way across the town between steep hills and architecture looking like traditional buildings from England.
You can find many restaurants, shops, and even wineries all around the Nye Beach area.
Cobble Beach
This particular beach is located by the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, and it only costs $7 for beach access and parking in the parking lot. Be aware that you won’t find much sand at Cobble Beach, which has many pebbles and a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean.
You’ll find tide pools at this Oregon Beach and plenty of marine life to check out. There’s a long staircase to walk down to reach the sandy beach or go for a swim. As you keep walking, you’ll enjoy reading through the informational panels printed on the side of the staircase.
On this seaside, you may see fishermen going crabbing or clamming. Plenty of sea birds are present here as well.
When you get hungry, the closest restaurant you’ll find is the Hill Buffet and Grill. Here, you’ll enjoy the ocean views and the chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, green beans, or tasty brownies for dessert.
Newport Beach or Harbor
Newport Beach is a great place to take the kids for a fun day in the sun and sand. You can even find sea lions playing on this beach.

Agate Beach is about one mile north of Nye Beach, so you could potentially check out both areas on the same day. You can also go a bit south on Agate Beach and find some great spots for surfers to enjoy riding the waves.
Agate Beach State Park also has a parking lot, restrooms, and even a tunnel that winds its way to the beach. In addition, you can find a great hiking trail on the Agate Beach State Recreation Site with woods and marshes.
Beverly Beach State Park
This is a very popular state park with a campground. You can book campsites here while enjoying the beach and warm ocean waters.
The Beverly Beach State Park is located south of the entry to the Devils Punch Bowl and the Otter Crest Loop.
You can access the beach through a tunnel under Highway 101 after spending some time roaming around more than 200 campsites located at this state park. At this beautiful beach, you have 1.5 miles of sand to wade through before reaching the Devils Punch Bowl.
Enjoy making a sandcastle, surfing the waves, or swimming in the warm waters during the summertime.

South Beach State Park

This is the perfect place to go whale watching, as there are plenty of migrating whales and harbor seals located at the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area. You’ll find tide pools here as well as tons of sea stars and sea anemones.
