Skinner’s Seafood

Located in downtown Dauphin Island, Skinner’s Seafood is a family-owned restaurant rated #1 on Trip Advisor’s list of Dauphin Island restaurants.

This family-owned restaurant serves crab cakes, sausages, gumbo, and crawfish pie produced locally. In addition, they sell seafood cooked and stored seafood for cooking at home. They even have their own spices for sale.

Their steamed shrimp is a clear favorite among reviews and their potatoes side option.

Dority’s Bar & Grill

Dority’s Bar and Grill has a food truck, live music, and a full bar. The outdoor seating gives Dority’s a unique, atmospheric dining experience.

Mainly open on weekends, go to Dority’s on a Friday or Saturday night to enjoy some good food and drinks and catch some local music acts. They even have a sandbox area for kids.

The food falls under the categories American, seafood, and pub-style food. They have a variety of sandwiches, shrimp and crawfish plates, and fries. The menu changes often, so be sure to call and ask what they are serving the day you plan on going if you want to know.

Miguel’s Beach’n Baja

Miguel’s Beach’n Baja combines West Coast flavors with Gulf Coast soul to bring you fresh tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and salsa. They bring you Southern Mexican cuisine you will find nowhere else.

They have everything from burrito bowls, to nachos, to shrimp and mahi-mahi tacos. One of the few vegetarian options on Dauphin Island, ask for a burrito bowl with no protein or enjoy some chips and guacamole for a quick meal.

Lighthouse Bakery

Are you looking for something sweet after eating some seafood in the area? Look no further.

All baked goods at Lighthouse are made fresh each morning and can be enjoyed with a hot coffee. They have cinnamon rolls, cheese danishes, a variety of fruity turnovers, muffins, and croissants to satisfy your sweet tooth.

They have breakfast specials every day of the week, with Sundays having breakfast omelets. Expect a unique selection of baked goods and breakfast items every day at Lighthouse Bakery.

Capt’n Snapper’s

Capt’n Snappers is a seafood hotspot in Dauphin island. Described as a “mellow crab shack,” this restaurant’s popular items include buffalo shrimp, crab cakes, and hush puppies.

While on the expensive side, Capt’n Snapper’s has a variety of fish options, burgers, gumbo, and scallops. The inside decor gives this hole-in-the-wall restaurant a unique sea-side image.
