Positive: Fabulous and peaceful location right on the lake shoreline, on the opposite side of the lake to the town of Bala. Each room has its own balcony and there is also a communal garden with lots of wildlife. Our apartment was the smallest but still had a good kitchenette with fridge and combi oven.
Negative: The room accommodation was misrepresented by the booking company Sykes Cottages. On several websites it states that the bed is king size when it is in fact 4’ 6”. This made a big difference to us and I ended up sleeping on a blow up mattress on the floor- not ideal! My husband was recovering from surgery so needed a bigger bed space. The owner did what she could but we had no options as the other rooms were occupied. Despite immediately notifying Sykes, they did not respond for two days.
Summary: Beautiful location, extremely disappointing customer service from Sykes. Best to book direct with owner!
