The entrance to the main house is at the rear of a covered terrace, one of several spots where you can dine al fresco. Step inside to find a large dining room with a terracotta tile floor and tiled and beamed ceiling, sunny yellow walls decorated with floral murals, and an antique dining table and dresser. This traditional, elegant style sets the tone of the high-quality country-style comforts you will enjoy throughout the villa.
Off one side of the room is a thoroughly modern kitchen. Off the other is a double reception, one with two large sofas, the other with three, and both with original hearths – plenty of space for everyone. On this level you’ll also find a bedroom of a size that must surely be called a suite, with sitting and sleeping areas. Its private bathroom is just next door.
Four more bedrooms, three double and one twin, can be found upstairs. The master, with half-poster double bed, has a sitting area and a separate office, as well as a large en-suite with freestanding bathtub, double sinks and shower. Along the corridor the other bedrooms are similarly sumptuous with iron bedsteads, antique wardrobes, and Persian rugs. Each has its own en-suite bathroom.
The covered terrace on this level, from which stairs lead down to the courtyard, is a lovely spot for an early morning coffee. You might see your fellow holidaymakers billeted to the double en-suite bedroom on the first floor of the annexe making the most of the views of the pool from their private balcony, too.
