The iconic Root River runs beside the town, offering many activities to start or end your day. The “driftless area” is incredibly quiet as the railroad is long gone. This flat area surrounded by steep hills, allows easy access to experience an array of activities at a relaxing pace.

Getting around Peterson is convenient and easy, regardless of your method of transportation. While you can reach various destinations within Peterson on foot or bike using the trail system, traveling by car is a great option if you are interested in exploring other attractions in nearby towns like Rushford, Whalan, or Lanesboro in order to make the most of your stay here.
