With that in mind, it's better to set the temperature at about 80 degrees or above to take the chill off downstairs much quicker. However, it's best to keep the heat on automatic at bedtime between 76-77 degrees, and exercise slightly closing the ceilting vents, so that the heat air does not blow on you directly.
