Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The farmhouse provided a spacious and comfortable stay for our group of ten, which included four children (ages 4 to 13) and six adults. The living room was especially roomy, and the setup allowed the children to stay in a four-bedded room with their own bathroom and balcony. However, we were slightly concerned that the balcony door in the children’s room did not have a lock, which could be a safety consideration for families with younger children. All bedrooms were clean and well-maintained, each with its own bathroom. Towels and soap were thoughtfully arranged, with two towels and a small soap bottle per single bed, and four towels and two soap bottles on the double beds. For longer stays you might wish to take your very own towels and soap. All rooms had air-conditioning, and there seemed to be a heating connection through the fireplace, though we didn’t need either one. The Wi-Fi signal was strong throughout the house, and the jacuzzi was fully functional, warm, and even had a small adjoining bathroom.
Negative: We did encountered some challenges during our stay. There is an active construction site nearby, with works beginning as early as 6:45 a.m. and continuing until around 6-7 p.m., even using spotlights after sunset. It would have been helpful to know in advance about the noise from this project. If quiet is a priority, we suggest checking with the property regarding the construction timeline. Given that a damage deposit is required in advance, guests should inspect the property upon arrival. The kitchen’s leather seating was already torn, and the fridge had several missing or mismatched glass shelves (only one shelve was an actual fridge shelve), including some damaged areas. We ultimately decided to limit our use of the fridge for safety reasons. Additionally, the jacuzzi deck area had some loose tiles that could be a tripping hazard, especially for children, and the jacuzzi cover was made of a heavy material with some wear and tear on its plastic covering. For the amount of money being asked for the damage deposit, it would be reassuring if the owners could conduct a walk-through at check-in to document any pre-existing damage, and ideally conduct a joint inspection at check-out as well. I spent my time running behind the kids making sure nothing would break 😅 As a side note: In the jacuzzi area, transitioning from the deck to the nirmal tiles can become slippery, especially going to the bathroom, so extra caution is advised. A small recommendation for convenience would be to add a third bin for organic waste. We prepared several meals over the weekend, and it wasn’t ideal to leave organic waste by the pool area, as it attracted cats. Despite these issues, we found the farmhouse itself enjoyable and suitable for groups. Once the construction is complete, this property might lose value. Hopefully some privacy on the pool area will be improved.
Summary: Good stay, would have been better without the machinery 😅
