Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: If you want a quiet relaxing holiday surrounded by nature, as we did, the location is superb. The view from the house is wonderful, overlooking the Barranc d'Algendar, the largest ravine on the island. The birds are fantastic. In the evening we were serenaded by at least three Nightingales and during the day, from the house, we could watch birds from the only European colony of Egyptian Vultures and other interesting birds such as Booted Eagles, Turtle Doves and Woodchat Shrikes. The house is spacious, well appointed and cool in hot weather. The kitchen is well equipped for a self-catering holiday and there is a good supermarket in Ferreries for food and other essentials. There is good walking available straight from the house but you will need a car to access the wonderful beaches on the south and north coasts. In the evening, Ferreries has some excellent restaurants.

Negative: The pool could have been better kept. Leaves from surrounding trees fall into it, however it was a good temperature and very refreshing.
