Summary: I Have given overall 4 star for our stay - the view from property on to the Douro river is literally breathtaking. We did the walks behind the house into hillside which gives you view higher up - amazing. The best part was the selection of kayaks and canoes - unbelievable! Paddling in the stretch of water was fantastic and we used this every day, if you like water sports then this is a must. The only reason I did not give 5 was a few minor issues with property when we arrived which Manuel the caretaker fixed promptly. The owner was also readily available on the phone and worked with manuel to put few things right. House is listed building so a good old portuguese villa. Perhaps a bit of upgrading around the pool area is where it scores lower. However, we all had a fantastic time and we will return.
