Travel Purpose: business
Positive: Good communications apart from the fact that I had to contact the host for check-in information and how to pay the £100 deposit as, apparently, an email failed to send. We had a comfortable bed and slept well and the cottage was well supplied with all the usual conveniences. We thought the online guide was very helpful and gave much more comprehensive information than we've had at other self-catering cottages.
Negative: Cleanliness! When we arrived the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and an unused tablet was in the dispenser, so the dishwasher hadn't been run since the previous occupants left. Additionally, the hob, stainless steel splash back, and the extractor fan filters were smeared with grease which gave the house an unpleasant smell on our arrival. We spent far too much time on our first day running the dishwasher and putting away other people's used crockery and cutlery and cleaning the hob and splash back. We didn't clean the extractor fan filters as by this time, I'd lost the will to live!
Summary: Really smart and well equipped house, but the cleanliness left a lot to be desired.
