The Cayo Vista property is located on the edge of San Ignacio, about a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk to downtown. We are close to all amenities yet we still feel like we’re a million miles away!
We provide free purified drinking water throughout your stay. We also provide coffee, tea, sugar, powdered milk as well as basic kitchenware such as forks, knives, spoons, bowls, plates, cups, mugs, cutting board, can opener, scissors, shot glasses, wine glasses and a wine bottle opener.
We have a 20 kw Generac back-up generator in case of a power outage (you’ll never be without A/C). We also have a 10,000 litre back-up water tank so if the town water gets cut off we still have water. Our goal is to never inconvenience guests with outages that are common in Central America.
We are truly in a birders paradise. On any given day you will see toucans, parrots, parakeets, vultures, as well as many other tropical birds. At times, you can also hear the howler monkeys in the nearby forest.
We are located in the Cayo Vista area in the edge of San Ignacio. We are a 5 minute drive to Burns Ave/downtown, the Welcome Center and the Farmers Market, a 4 minute drive to the Princess Casino and the Green Iguana Conservation Project. We are also close to Cahal Pech Ruins, Rolson’s Restaurant, Jalapeños Restaurant. The San Ignacio Airstrip is a 10 minute drive away as is the world renown Mayan Ruins, Xunantunich.
Our property is quiet and peaceful. Although we are still in San Ignacio you also have the jungle feeling at the property.
Guests would benefit from having their own vehicle. In case guests do not have a vehicle we can arrange a shuttle to/from anywhere in the country. We also provide phone numbers for taxis, which are listed in the manual that is in the guesthouse.
