Summary:
An original lakeland cottage, with a rich history. Renovated to a brand new standard not long ago, it's like a brand new home inside but keeping some original features, like exposed beams.
The cottage is close to the top of the fells, so has great views and it's a very quiet place. The location has the wonderful village of Cartmel just a 3 minute drive away (or hike over the fell), Grange-Over-Sands a short walk just down the road.
A beautiful base for exploring The Lake District.
The Space:
A large lounge/dining room on the ground floor. A pantry, cosy log burner, dual aspect windows, comfy furniture and a 4 seater table.
Leading from the dining room side of the lounge area, there is a separate kitchen. Fully fitted, with high quality and easy to use, appliances. French doors open out from the kitchen to the private patio area at the rear of the property. A relaxing outdoor space with seating to wine, dine and relax. There is a heat lamp for the cooler nights or late evenings looking up at the stars.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a master bedroom with king bed and a second bedroom with a single bed. There is a large bathroom with walk-in shower, period features, bath and heated towel rail. Adjacent to the bathroom is the dressing room with a long mirror - an additional space for storage, preparing for a night out and as a walk-in wardrobe.
The front of the property also benefits from, elevated, outdoor space with a bench position - catching the sun and views of the bay.

The Neighborhood:
Situation toward the top of the hill along the country road that leads you up, out of Grange-Over-Sands, along to Cartmel. The area is very quiet in the evenings, with a little bustle around the towns in the day. A very safe, well looked after area.. the kind of place that has everything you need but you can still relax and see a night sky full of stars.
Getting Around:
There is free parking on the road outside the property. It's up towards the fells out the top of the village - a short walk down to town but it's a steep walk back up, plenty of parking down near the shops along the Promenade.
Grange-Over-Sands is situated close to the main dual carriageway, A590 which is a straight run over to Windermere or North to Kendal. Cartmel is a short hike or super short drive over the fell too.
Grange-Over-Sands has a train station, taxi services and frequent bus connections should you need them.
Other Things to Note:
Though new to some booking sites, Poppy's Nook has been welcome guests as a successful, 5 star, holiday cottage since the summer of 2019. A wonderful place to explore the Lake District and South Cumbria from.
