Positive: Location was great, secluded, private! Even though there are other cabins on the property, you still feel like you’re solo in the mountains! Douglas Falls was so beautiful and well worth the drive up the mountain and 1/2 mile trek to see!
Negative: We signed up for a rustic cabin so we knew we weren’t getting 5 star accommodations...but the cleanliness of the cabin could most definitely be stepped up a notch. (Mold, cobwebs throughout, dead bugs, dirty bath mat, ants, dirty dishes, etc.) Owners could Spend very minimal $ to provide guests with better equipped, more enjoyable stay at the cabin... clean, get some better kitchen supplies and dishes, bath mat(s), have some fans on site for guests to use if desired, have some better outdoor furniture (outdoors is where we wanted to be but sitting in plastic $ store chairs by the fire or rocking chairs that don’t rock werent ideal for any of us) Add a binder in the cabin for people to access on things to do in the area (outside of the usual Biltmore House) Since there is no cell service or wi-fi, you have no way to look up things to do without driving to “town” to get service. And just one more thing ;) add a small recliner/chair to the living room to provide another spot to sit...there’s plenty of room
