History, charm and views! Sandy Point is a classic Cape Cod charmer, located right on the point overlooking the white sand beaches and the Solimar surf break. This home has all the modern amenities that you and your family need in a stylish and picturesque beach home with a unique setting. Views abound in every direction...coastal views, mountain views and island views! Walk into the main house's bright and airy living space with french doors that open to the patio and spacious front lawn overlooking the ocean and beach. The living room with its large fireplace, informal furniture and art, creates a perfect environment for relaxation. Continue on to the kitchen which is fully equipped for all of your cooking and dining needs. The family style dining arrangement, central island with bar sink and the large ocean view window seat all create a special setting that encourages family interaction. Upstairs the master suite has a King bed plus an additional bed room with twin beds and a shared ¾ bathroom. Twin dormer windows offer cozy and inviting window seats with ocean views. Custom built-in redwood cabinetry is present throughout the house. In the 1940’s an oil refinery in Fillmore, was dismantling an old, large wooden water tank made entirely of high quality redwood. The wood from the entire tank was then milled into useful sizes and used exclusively to construct their new beach home. If you look closely you can still see the old water stains in some of the natural redwood finish. The Downstairs, off the living room, find another bedroom with a Queen bed, custom built-in closets and a ¾ bathroom. Separate from the main house is a back cottage, or as it was originally used, a library. You will find a Queen bed, kitchenette with fridge and a ¾ bathroom. Enjoy the quiet patio space between the two cottages which is perfect for relaxation and BBQ's in a quiet setting of thriving plants and flowers. Appliances include dishwasher, microwave, oven/cooktop, refrig/freezer, washer, dryer, gas BBQ, hi speed internet and cable TV. Subject to availability the shared use of common owned tennis courts (2), sports court and children's play areas located on separate nearby property. Right out front is one of the most sand blessed beaches in the area. Two great surf breaks are located right in front of the home! Enjoy the Grunion runs, fishing, surfing, boogie boarding and kayaking. This is a private community with limited beach access. You get to enjoy the privacy of beachfront living without the crowds. Other community amenities include two tennis courts, a kids play area, multiple private beach access points, and plenty of private biking. NOTE: This home requires two week minimum. Prices reflect two week stay. LOCATION Ventura is only 10 minutes to the South. Ventura is that last little beach town in southern-ish California where you can get that small beach town feel with close in proximity to airports, family attractions, wineries, breweries and just so many other great cities to visit. Santa Barbara and Ojai are 35 minutes away; Carpinteria is 15 minutes away. There are three harbors and fishing as close as fifteen minutes. Most of these homes are ideal for any ocean activity and are also next to a coastal bikeway that extends from Ventura to Santa Barbara. LAX (1.5 hours) and Burbank (1 hour) are located south.
