Our family's home is the perfect place to stay while you're in town for the Derby. Only 20 miles from iconic Churchill Downs, you'll feel right at home in this clean, comfortable 4 bedroom home. Bring the whole gang - with pull-out beds and sofas, you can easily sleep 8 - 10 people. With four bedrooms, there's plenty of privacy, and three full bathrooms will make getting ready a breeze!
Our recently remodeled kitchen opens into a spacious great room, so your whole gang can hang out together. Or if you prefer, the formal living room and downstairs game room offer separate spaces for lots of different activities. If the evenings are a little chilly, light a fire in our custom-made fire pit, or relax in our nearly-brand-new hot tub.
Let's get specific. The master bedroom features a queen sleep number bed and an attached bathroom. Bedroom #2 has a double bed, and bedroom #3 has a twin bed. In the basement, bedroom #4 has a twin bed, and there are two pull-out beds in the basement as well. One of our three bathrooms is in the basement, so anyone sleeping downstairs won't have to come upstairs to get ready. The downstairs game room has oh-so-relaxing recliners, an air hockey table and a bumper pool table. Our formal living room has a huge library, so feel free to curl up in a comfy leather chair with a good book. The main room upstairs has a working fireplace, a beautiful farmhouse dining table, and modern kitchen appliances.
And just wait until you see the backyard! The pictures don't begin to do justice to this marvelous space. Kick back in a lounge chair while your burgers cook on the grill, or take a nap in the chair swing. Our hot tub has capacity for 4 - 6 people, and our unique backyard cold tub is a great place to cool off after a hot day of hollerin' for the horses!
We're not professional renters. You'll be staying in our home - we just happen to be out of town Derby week. Some of our decor might look a little dated, but I promise you everything will be clean as a whistle and comfortable as your favorite sweater. A friend of ours will be acting as your host, so he will be just a text or phone call away if you have any questions.
Our small town in Southern Indiana is closer to Churchill Downs than many Louisville suburbs. The drive to Louisville is easy and almost all interstate. In addition to the Derby, Louisville has many other fabulous and fun things to do. From bourbon distillery tours to world-class restaurants, it's a great town to visit.
Absolutely no cats. Dogs are welcome and will love roaming our fully-fenced-in back yard. We do ask that dogs be contained to hardwood floor areas only.
