Summary: This was our first visit to Sicily and it couldn't have been more memorable! Unfortunately, Carmen and her family were out of town during our visit so we couldn't meet her, but she made arrangements for Enza to greet us for the check-in and it worked beautifully. The apartment was much larger than we expected with a deck overlooking the ocean - beautiful. Everything was exceptionally clean with a very thoughtful basket of biscotti, olive oil, Sicilian tomato sauce, crackers, wine and beer which made the welcome even more enjoyable. Once we got our bearings (we're older so it took a little while) we realized how close we were to the main plaza with charming restaurants, a grocery store, shops, one of which is called Konza that makes the best arancini! Both varieties with ragu or cheese are unbelievable. The beach is a couple of minutes away, perfect for swimming or strolling. And a delightful surprise which really made our stay was the 10-15 minute drive to the small town of Punta Secca (Vigata in the TV show) where Detective Montalbano was filmed! Very fun for us groupies. Carmen was very responsive whenever we needed anything and helped make our stay the very best possible. Thank you Carmen for sharing your beautiful home. We loved it!
