we love this because...
The sound of the birdlife surrounds this home and kookaburras, lorikeets and cockatoos love to perch on the balconied deck and eat out of our hand if we invite them to. We love the native bush surrounding the house, set high on a ridge in Mount Martha with glimpses of the ocean through the trees. And its only a stone's throw from Mount Martha golf course (golf anyone?).
Decorated with artefacts from Melanesia it is a fascinating interior, not to mention the interesting book collection where we spend hours browsing and reading.
We love a holiday to have that effortless living of indoor-outdoor.
Just like a resort, there are concertina doors that slide back to make the upper lounge and deck one complete room.
In summer the kids love the pool area and as they play all day, we lounge on the deck with a drink in hand and watch from a distance.
If the kids want something more adventurous, you could walk the 30 minutes to The Pillars, a small rock ledge that sits up out of the bay with cliffs that range from about one and a half to five metres ready to be jumped off into the blue ocean, its a popular spot so be warned!
For coffee, we choose Mr Curtis our favourite spot in the village (a 6-minute drive away or a 50-minute walk) and for dinner Volpino Pizzeria and Wine Bar, we always get a seat outside and watch the world go by with a glass of Pinot.

What fun! a new house to visit that lets four-legged friends like me sleep inside.
Yay! a garden with tall fences to keep me safe. Love the trees and bushes, there are lots of interesting smells. Are those possums in the trees?
And there's a special basket just for me. No way! What's in there? Ooh, ooh! a treat from PAWDINKUM. I LOVE THIS PLACE.
