Positive: This is a beautiful villa, spotlessly clean. The hosts are the best I’ve ever come across, nothing is too much trouble for them. We stayed for a month and the house was cleaned thoroughly including all linen and towels changed every week. Any queries are attended to immediately. One day we walked a mile down steep slopes to the supermarket then couldn’t get a taxi back with the groceries, not having anyone else to call, I asked Neili, one of the hosts. He was there in ten minutes. This is typical of him and his wife Carmo, the guests needs are everything. Needless to say, we are going back again. We had a hire car but we found walking the 1.5 miles downhill to Funchal was good with a taxi back. Uber is now in Funchal we used them and also Bolt. We hardly used the expensive hire car.
