“A stylish, contemporary apartment filled with natural light in a fabulous location in the pretty, upmarket town of Harpenden, just north of London. John and Sarah are wonderful, welcoming hosts who take the care to add those special, homely touches such as fresh flowers, a bowl of fresh fruit, a jar of marmalade and fresh bread and milk! The apartment has numerous quality bars, restaurants and quaint old pubs on its doorstep. It’s a 3 minute walk to the station with a frequent and fast short train service into the heart of central London. We stayed twice for six nights each time in July and August 2016 and found it so easy and quick to zip into London day or evening. There are very few places I can recommend to my fussiest, discerning friends and H-Star is definitely one of those rare finds! Highly recommended!”

"A beautiful little apartment right in the heart of Harpenden. The hosts were lovely too and very helpful. I phoned or texted them with any problems. The bedding was divine and I slept better at this apartment than I have anywhere before. Also, the flat was surprisingly child friendly and not very hard to child proof; I have a two year old and a one year old. They left some food provisions for us when we got there (bread, butter, jam, soups, tea, coffee, bottled water, milk etc.) so we could just relax once we got to the apartment. Praise to our hosts.”

Sarah’s place is perfectly located in the centre of Harpenden, with local amenities within walking distance and the convenience of a dedicated parking space. I also had to travel to the centre of London; the train station is a five minute walk away and door to door took 30 minutes. The flat is exactly as advertised and has everything required to live comfortably, a home from home. Sarah and John were very receptive and stayed in contact even though they were on holiday during my stay! I cannot recommend this place enough, especially if you need the flexibility and home comforts while working. Thank you both for a fabulous stay.”

Sarah and John were very easy to liaise with in the lead up to our arrival, responding promptly to any of our queries, and they went out of their way to help us out with special requests eg. an extra blow up air-mattress for our 8 year old. We were also greeted with fresh bread and fruit, Australian beer and sparkling water on our arrival which was lovely and very much appreciated. The images on Airbnb give an accurate impression of the apartment which was surprisingly more spacious than we expected for the UK, and the linen (towels, bedding etc.) was lovely. The central Harpenden location is fantastic – easy access to anywhere, train station only 3 minutes away, etc. The owners of the Italian restaurant below the apartment are also lovely, and made us feel very welcome – great authentic Italian people and food! It is a five minute walk to the station, depending on the train you catch it will take thirty to forty minutes into London. The apartment is lovely and spacious and equipped with all you need. The flat is very conveniently located in the centre of a town hiding some beautiful, little known treasures (e.g. Rothamsted Park) not mentioning the surroundings or the vicinity to London. The apartment is full of light and very comfortable. Some nice fruit on the table and the fresh flowers in a vase when you arrive remind you that you are more a guest than a customer for the friendly owners Sarah and John.
