The house is located in the heart of the village of Leclercville where a few dozen small ancestral houses make up this district which is very accessible to pedestrians thanks to its small, narrow streets of human scale. This neighborhood is one of the few places that gives us easy access to the St. Lawrence River along Route 132 in the region, while the majority of the surrounding villages are on top of cliffs. Leclercville peer and the island park at the mouth of the Chêne River are within walking distance from the house.
The neighborhood where the house is located can be walk on foot or by bike. There are a few shops easily accessible. A car is required to get to the Moulin du Portage and the surrounding villages (grocery stores, gas stations).
For water sports enthusiasts, there is a boat descent at the municipal wharf. The yard does not have a proper descent into the water, but it is possible to put a kayak or a paddle board in the water directly from it.
This house is located in a residential area with immediate neighbors. It is a peaceful and welcoming neighborhood that is ideal for couples, respectful groups or families with young children. However, the place will not be suitable for groups of friends looking for an isolated place to party and liven up all night long.
The house is located on a narrow cul-de-sac street with only one front neighbor. His house is close, so it is advisable to walk around the side of the house to ensure privacy.
This house bears witness to its venerable age with its crooked walls and floors. This is normal for a 150-year-old house and it will suit those who appreciate ancestral homes with their little flaws of old age.
Some outdoor equipment may be unavailable during wintertime.
The hot tub is a 120V plug & play model that cools down when the cover is removed and once it is back on, it heats up slowly around 1 to 2 degrees F every hour.
Early check-in or late check-out is available when possible. A surcharge of $50 CDN will be payable for one or the other for a maximum of 2 hours.
Not suitable for babies (under 2 years old) as there are stairs and no safety gate.
There is a child's play structure that requires adult supervision of children.
4 exterior surveillance cameras record activity on the parking driveway, access to the yard on the canal side and on each of the exterior doors of the house. There is an interior noise measurement device.
There is a smoke and carbon monoxide detector in each bedroom, one in the kitchen and a 4th in the basement.
Normally a quiet neighborhood, but occasionally you can hear children from the neighborhood, the waterfowl during migration periods and sometimes recreational boats on the river. In the basement, the sump pump can be heard during high tides.
The accommodation includes steps or stairs. There are 4 steps to access the two balconies which allow access to the house. A narrow staircase inside provides access to the bedrooms upstairs.
The television does not include cable or continuous over-the-air channels. It only works through Roku applications with the provided Internet connection.
