Positive: Nice, clean apartment in a very good location — steps away from the train station, and also from the bus station. That's where we took our bus to Mont St-Michel, so it worked out great. There a some nice restaurants just outside the building, including a traditional Bréton one; so having some good options where to eat was great. The bed and the sofa bed were comfortable. The host had prepared a booklet with a list of attractions to see in and around Rennes, which was appreciated.
Negative: There is no elevator in the building, only stairs. The apartment is on the 2nd floor (counting floors the way they do in France; so the ground floor is floor zero, then the next floor is the 1st floor, and the one above that is the 2nd floor). We were aware of this, and we were okay with it. I am just putting it out there so that other are aware. There was smell of cigarettes in the hallway, but the smell didn't reach inside the apartment.
