Positive: We very much enjoyed this Ryokan. They offered a shuttle from the train station, which is helpful as they are in Tomonoura . Easier than taking the bus if you are travelling by train! As soon as we arrived the helpfulness and professionalism of the staff was evident. This impressed us through out our stay. The door staff, the front desk staff and the dining staff - all exemplary. Our room was lovely with interesting wall finishings and a view over the water. The public areas were also attractive. Our meals were also overlooking the water and just delicious. We found having these wonderful traditional meals to be a highlight of our trip to Japan. While weather did not fully cooperate during our stay we still had a lovely hike on the adjacent island easily accessible by a short boat ride ( which runs continuously throughout the day). They also had a nice onsen with outdoor area.
Negative: Perhaps they could make information about the shuttle ( times and pick up location) available with the confirmation. This information probably would have been easier to access if we spoke Japanese!
Summary: A very nice Ryokan with professional service and food.
