Sea safaris can be booked at John O’Groats
Caithness, with it’s wide-open skies is a stunning holiday location and to make the most of it you do need to get out and about either on the North Coast 500 with its many sites of interest or on foot or bike along quiet side roads and forest tracks. The area has long been a favourite with the Royal Family and it is reputed that while staying at the house the Queen Mother decided to buy the Castle of Mey after seeing it from her bedroom window, now known as the Mey bedroom; you can also search for the “Royal” picnic bench beside the peaceful River Thurso and “rest and be thankful” with Royal approval!
