Summary: We hebben erg genoten van ons familieweekend. De grote tuin en de royale buitenruimte zijn schitterend. Het buitenmeubilair is van goede kwaliteit. Het panoramisch zicht over de vallei achteraan in de tuin is adembenemend. Het ziet er al spectaculair uit op de foto’s, maar de realiteit is nog veel beter dan op de foto’s. De ontvangst was hartelijk, met een grote flexibiliteit voor de check-in en check-out. Over het huis zelf zijn we iets minder enthousiast. De grote middenruimte is indrukwekkend, maar is erg kil en mist gezelligheid. Alles is design wit, maar de zithoek is echt niet comfortabel. Typerend is dat we meer rechtgestaan hebben in de keuken, dan gezeten in de zithoek. Het afwerkingsniveau is in het algemeen ook minder dan wat je van de foto’s zou verwachten. Het huis is eigenlijk een gigantische gemeenschappelijke ruimte met daarnaast vele kleine, eerder oncomfortabele kamers met heel veel bedden, vandaar de grote capaciteit. De bedden zijn ook extra hoog, het lijkt alsof je er elk moment uit kan vallen. Ze zijn wel van goede kwaliteit, ook het gehuurde bedlinnen. Bijna alle kamers hebben een badkamer, maar niet allen hebben een toilet, soms moet je zelf redelijk ver lopen naar het toilet. Er is een professionele keuken, dat is een grote plus. Er is wel maar 1 oven en 2 vaatwassers, maar het is professioneel materiaal en dus zeer efficiënt voor grote groepen. Er was maar 1 sleutel van het huis en elk van de bijgebouwen. Dat is niet praktisch met een grote groep. We waren maar met 15 in een huis van 30-35 personen, dus wij hadden niet alle kamers nodig, maar ik vraag mij af hoe iemand naar het toilet kan ’s nachts uit het (mooie) buitenhuis zonder toilet. Zonder sleutel geraak je gewoon niet aan een toilet, en als je de sleutel wel hebt, moet je rondlopen tot aan de voordeur langs de straat. Het meest efficiënte is allicht de deuren open laten, maar dat lijkt ook niet erg veilig. Wat het meest hinderlijke aan het huis is, en daar heb ik mij echt kapot aan geërgerd, zijn de vele niveauverschillen, zowel in de vloer als in de hoogte. Ik ben ettelijke keren gestruikeld over een overwachte trede die niet zichtbaar was (alles is wit, dus het valt echt niet op) en met mijn hoofd tegen een balk gelopen, omdat ik naar beneden keek om niet over een onverwachte trede te struikelen. Neem een goede EHBO kit mee, accidents will happen! Al bij al, ondanks de toch wel mindere kantjes, was het verblijf heel aangenaam. Wij vinden het ideaal voor in de zomer, wanneer we voornamelijk buiten zitten tot ’s avonds laat, maar minder geschikt bij kortere dagen als je veel binnen moet zitten.
