We had several babies and toddlers and the house was safe and accommodating for all ages. The location is great - you can get to Boone, Banner Elk, Grandfather, the Parkway, and much more in half an hour or less. We love this place and hope to stay there again someday. Centrally located between Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and Valle Crucis. Thus, equidistant to our two favorite restraunts in NC -- Artisnal and the Gamekeeper. Hosts were amazingly prompt at answering questions. David July, 2017 'We had a wonderful extended family get-together at the Hilltop Hideaway. There were beautiful panoramic views from every side of this comfortable cabin. It felt like home, but better. Watching the sunrise over the mountains from the hot tub was breath taking. Everyone pitching in to cook the meals in the spacious kitchen was fun. Relaxing, going for afternoon walks,napping in the hammock, and rocking on the front porch were just what we all needed. It was nice to laugh, 'catch up' and reminisce in such a beautiful setting. The kids loved 'Camp Skybunk'. It was almost like their own personal apartment. They made memories picking blackberries,roasting marshmallows by the campfire pit,wading in the Watauga River, and trying to choose their favorites at the Mast General Store's Candy Barrel. We had a great vacation that we all will cherish for a lifetime. This is a private cabin, with a peaceful atmosphere, in the most beautiful area of the NC mountains.
