Nestled in the heart of gentle rolling countryside, in the hollow of a bucolic valley, at the foot of Mont Saint-Romain (listed natural site, exceptional belvedere culminating at 580m offering a 360° view as far as Mont-Blanc on a clear day & renowned downhill mountain bike trail), Blanot benefits from an absolutely enchanting landscaped setting, combining hedged meadows, beautiful wild forests & vineyards (largely protected in "Natura 2000 Zone" for its rich fauna & flora), has a rich heritage (rare Cluniac Priory from the 13th century, old wash houses, bread oven, historic houses restored with galleries & lava roofs, Merovingian tombs from the 6th & 7th centuries etc.) and is home to renowned "Grottes" (jewel of the Cluniac region, classified as a ZNIEFF for the protection of rare species of bats).
