Noted Architect Richard Neutra's first Desert commission, this property was designed for Grace Miller in 1936 as her private residence and exercise studio. Having suffered many years of neglect, the current owner purchased the property in 2000 and began a lengthy restoration process that included the realization of the Guest House in 2007, based upon Neutra's original plans. As of March 2020, the home is officially on the National Register of Historic Places. The Guest House is situated on the Western side of the property and is set-up as a studio, with the open concept living space encompassing a sleeping area with a Queen sized Bed, Dining Nook, Built-in Kitchenette and private bathroom. From the Guest House, guests will enjoy fabulous views of the pool, mature desert scape and architectural elements of the Main House. For Architecture and Design aficionados, this is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the elements of Neutra, privately and at your own pace! Please note that while guests will have the property to themselves, access will be limited to the Guest House and all outdoor spaces, including the pool, and the screened porch The Guest House is a hospitality suite and is suitable for a maximum of 2 guests (not family friendly). The space is designed for short stays only; the kitchenette is suitable for coffee/tea, snacks, take-out meals and reheating. It is not designed for cooking. Pets are not permitted Usage: The Property shall be used for residential vacation rental purposes only. Special events (photo shoots, video shoots, weddings, receptions, etc.) shall not be allowed without the prior written consent of Owners – such activities will incur an increase in fees associated with this booking. The person whose name is on the reservation (considered the responsible party) must be present at the time of check-in and produce valid ID. If the responsible party will not be present at the time of check in, a copy of your photo ID must be sent in 4 days prior to arrival to confirm identity and age. EVERYONE MUST BE 25 YEARS OR OLDER IN ORDER TO STAY AT ANY OF OUR PROPERTIES, unless the parents of the guests under 25 are staying at the house also. ***We meet every guest at the door.
