Hancock Point is a special Maine community with a long history. There is a lot to do within a short walk from the house! Seaglass hunt on Carters Beach, kayak or sail in the bay off of the public wharf, play tennis on a clay court, visit the community library, the non-denominational chapel or the fabulous Crocker House Restaurant and Inn. We are centrally located between Acadia National Park and Schoodic Point, with lots of hiking and activities in both directions. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are a 30-minute drive away. Acadia is the home to Cadillac mountain, Thunder Hole, Sand Beach, and incredible hiking, biking, and kayaking. Schoodic Point, an extension of Acadia 30 minutes north, has many hiking trails and views. There are several restaurants such as Iron Bound, Chippers, Itty Bitty Diner, Crocker House, and Jordan's Snack Bar minutes away. The property is located 15 minutes from the city of Ellsworth with more shopping, restaurants, Hannaford's, and Shaw's markets.
