Audrey & Eric open the doors of elegant authentic stables dating from the 19th century, fully and carefully restored (formerly linked to the country farm that occupied the premises, of which the imposing old "drying shed" courtyards remain), nestled in the hollow of a vast intimate interior courtyard located on the edge of a lane in the heart of a peaceful & picturesque little rural residential hamlet housing a beautiful 12th century Romanesque priory chapel (now revisited as an art exhibition space). A stone's throw from the banks of the Saône, in the heart of the Haut Mâconnais countryside, a peaceful, preserved setting of gentle mountains with bucolic rolling landscapes combining vineyard hillsides (first vines only 1.5 km away), fields, meadows & beautiful forests, nestled at the foot of the Burgy mountain (a wild massif offering an exceptional panoramic viewpoint as far as Mont-Blanc on a clear day!). Wine village with the "Viré Clessé" appellation, Montbellet has a rich heritage (12th & 11th century Romanesque church and chapel, several castles, notably medieval, many mills, wash houses, remains of a 13th century commandery, etc.). Very comfortable cottage. Warm country character with contemporary accents. Cozy & cozy. Zen & gentle atmosphere.
