Your only challenge will be too many things to enjoy. The spring, summer, and fall offer peak mountain experiences of hiking, Jeep tours, biking, climbing, and boating under Colorado blue skies surrounded by quivering aspens and great pines. Road trip along the dramatic Million Dollar Highway. Explore nearby mountain trails and kayaking, paddle boarding, and packrafting opportunities. A few steps down the hill from the house, well-stocked Columbine lake offers private fishing for trout, while local creeks and streams beckon avid fly-fishers.
The changing seasons bring a dramatic show of fall leaves and usher in winter snow sports. Located just outside of Purgatory Resort and next to the Durango Nordic Center, the home offers immediate access to winter downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and sledding.
Enjoy Durango Hot Springs Resort(15 minutes away) or the town of Durango(30 minutes away) with its nightlife, dining, and shopping. Or do absolutely nothing. Sometimes it’s best to take in the lake, the sky, and the mountains and just be.

You'll have access to the private, protected lake where you can fish (catch and release) or float along peacefully surrounded by the San Juan mountains. Aspens, spruce, and firs create an idyllic atmosphere in any season.
Have a barbeque on the stone patio overlooking the lake. Enjoy the Colorado sunshine as you cook up a meal on our gas-powered bbq grill. Cozy up by the propane fire pit as you take in the view.
The interior is a feast for the senses: warm log walls, a great stone fireplace, artisanal floor tiles, rich dark colors, and gracious windows framing picture-perfect views from every room.

The primary bedroom suite features an exposed stone wall and stone floor, making you feel like you’ve woken up in a castle on the coast of France. Ceiling is cozily covered in a sweet and delicate floral patterned fabric. Our King size bed with Dreamcloud mattress and a down mattress topper will have you sleeping like royalty! The attached bathroom contains 2 separate vanity/sink areas, plenty of storage, and a stand alone shower.
Secondary bedroom is a comfortably bright, airy space looking out on the lake and featuring a Queen Bed with Dreamcloud mattress. Built-in shelving offers plenty of space in the closet. While the secondary bathroom features a hammered copper soaking tub and romantic vanity/sink.
The upstairs loft features 3 single beds and a small storage closet, perfect for additional guests. Get your mountain climbing practice in with a steep set of stairs to access the loft. Great for kids but can be a challenge to navigate for people with limited mobility. Just be sure all adventurers use the handrail!
For entertainment, there are televisions in the great room, loft, and both bedrooms. Games and movies are provided for lazy days. Bar with a full fridge gives you a dedicated space to store and prepare your libations.

***NOTE: 4WD/AWD required in winter with snow tires (Thanksgiving through late March). Chains can be rented in the neighborhood for $30/day. Roads are regularly plowed and in good condition but can be steep in some areas.
