Summary: We went to Guadeloupe for 10 days and stayed most of them at Nicoles beautiful cottages. We enjoyed the trip and stay, it was a great experience and we can just recommend this accommodation. Nicole is a truly great and sweet host, with whom you can enjoy a drink and can have an interesting conversation in the evening. The garden is idyllic, lovely and with the small river near by a bit adventures; Nicole has an amazing tree in the back with big pink flowers. I was a bit worried about too many mosquitos being surrounded by forest, but we had no issue at all!! The cottage we had was perfect for two people and really nice, but we also got a glimpse into the bigger apartments, which looked equally lovely. Having shutters as windows you can adjust how much light and fresh air you want to let in; with an outdoor kitchen you can cook and relax at home and books everywhere give you enough reading material for if you run out your own. The place itself is a bit north of Saint Claude, close to Matouba on the west side of Basse Terre, which gives you a great advantage point. Basse Terre is only a quick drive away to grab fe. some street food in the evening at the Marina and also Vieux Fort (with a great lighthouse), Grande Anse (black sand beach) and Trois Rivieres are easy to reach. A car is recommendable though. Additionally St. Claude is a good location to start hiking tours to La Soufrière and the Parc National. Overall we were really happy with our choice and we can just recommend it as place to stay in Gudaeloupe.
