Positive: Clean, spacious, comfortable, good location and super hospitable hosts. Great AC, everything you need to cook (good quality), ample toiletries, fantastic AC and solid wifi. Host responded very quickly to messages, such as a request for a beach towel, a random one off power outage that merely required breaker switch reset, and arranging a taxi. Multiple nice beaches and rock hiking 10-20 min walk away. Bus to town and common excursion pickup 2-3 min walk. Two fully stocked grocery stores 5 min walk away. A few restaurants nearby. Safe.
Negative: If you don't have a car and don't like walking, you might find it to be a tad isolated.
Summary: Quiet Chania base with comfortable amenities and hospitable hosts.
