Halfway between Boca Tomatlan and Yelapa is the hidden gem QUIMIXTO. Escape from the grid to simple paradise!! No cars, not a lot of people, heavenly beach. Shhh, it is still a secret. We have one of the only beach houses for rent, it is clean and cozy, perfect to relax and reconnect with family and friends. ~ 40 minutes from old town Puerto Vallarta by taxi/bus to Boca Tomatlan then a 10 minute panga water taxi ride along the beautiful shore. You wiil never lose sight of Puerto Vallarta as you can see the glimmering lights across the bay. Enjoy our fully equipped home surrounded by private yard and beach! Have our wonderful house host prepare meals for you as you need, or cook your own meals in our well stocked kitchen. You will have views of Marrieta Islands, passing ships, whales, dophins- stunning!! Don' worry about security, this place is very safe and secure. Customized cooking and cleaning uptions upon request. GREAT SURFING, kids beach, fishing, beachcombing, snorkling,bird watching, tranquil swimming in easy bay waters. Take the 30 minute hike to the water fall or the secret cove. Feel yourself move easily in an environment which is not over stimulating, yet has all the ammenities you need for a robust visit. Two beach cantinas and little food stores throughout the village. Ahh, the peace.
Custom designed as a family get-away retreat yet close to the beautiful city of Puerto Vallarta for day trips and practical ammenities. Truly a once in a life time experience as Quimixto has NO CARS, only cobblestone paths and horses. The community is heartwarming, and you can find local and cultural fresh foods prepared just for you there.

Please note that Quimixto is more or less a rustic setting and takes some physical abilities to get around village, as everyone walks (or rides a horse). There is a clean fresh water creek that divides the town in half, it is never too deep to cross by foot. Navigational, and baggage assistance available. (This creek and meandering streamlet to the ocean is a bird watchers paradise.)
Bright and light, clean and pretty, two private bedrooms w/bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen, fishing gear, sand toys, boogie board (movies) makes it a beach home away from home.
Bancos in living area provide additional sleeping options in a pinch. Relax in the hammock or in porch chairs under the large expansive porch.

Sunny and delightful ~ Inspiration and relaxation is here to be found. House has large windows and glass doors so one can see straight out underneath our coconut trees to Puerto Vallarta, passing ferries, cruiseships, pirate ships, and the Marrieta Islands! Whale and dolphin watch from the kitchen table. Super sweet. Spectacular stunning views.
One acre property completely fenced. Beach right there. SIGHTSEE right from the house whales, dolphins, sailboats, and cruise ships off in the distance.
In the peak season, there are vendors selling ceviche, fresh fruits, fish, coconuts, and the fresh pies the south bay villages are known for. Many possible day trips.
Pick up your groceries in Puerto Vallarta and/or buy your food from the several humble family owned stores in the village. Restaurants are open seasonally.
Day trip to the busy village of Yelapa, or the (magnificent) Zoo & beautiful Botanical Gardens. Hike to the nearby beach of Las Animas and catch the panga back. Guides available for boat journeys & excellent seasonal WHALE WATCHING, mtn hikes, surf instruction, cooking, language instruction, etc.
