Welcome to Big Love.
We discovered the magical piece of earth that is now Big Love in 2008 and instantly fell in love. Situated on an island in Central Bali’s working ricefields, Big Love showcases tropical nature at its most spectacular: constantly changing jungle in the river canyon to our east, endless sunset panoramas over the paddy fields to our west, a range of ancient volcanoes on our northern horizon, some extraordinarily special energy all around us and above us a continuously moving and very, very big sky.
Amidst all this outrageous beauty, we made the choice to seek a more organic, human and creative way of life for ourselves, our family, and anyone else who happened to drop by. As conscientiously and as respectfully as possible we created Big Love in harmony with this organic world. Our focus is on connection, renewal and growth. At the heart of what we do is the exploration of what it means to be human and our search to find better ways to live, work and collaborate. We live and work cooperatively. We treat each other with respect and kindness. We share our food together. We strive to respect this connection and the many benefits it has afforded to everyone around the world who has had the opportunity to spend some time at Big Love and come to know its very special nature.
Today Big Love offers you:
• 6 wonderful staff members who look after housekeeping, gardening, pool, maintenance and are available to assist in the kitchen
• 4 uniquely beautiful suite rooms, each individually designed and artisanally constructed with meticulous attention to every detail. All are extremely spacious and comfortable, offering private spaces both inside and out, fabulous views and outdoor bathrooms.
• A fully-equipped open-plan kitchen with polished granite counter tops, stainless steel shelving and a green ocean-stone floor. We are serious about food and the kitchen is at the heart of everything at Big Love
• Both indoor and outdoor living and dining areas, all carefully positioned to best appreciate our magnificent views and thoughtfully accessorised with a selection of the estate's collection of antique and reclaimed furniture and tribal art.
• A 20m pool complete with deck and bale. Exercise, cool-down or find a comfortable spot from which to soak in the sweeping panorama of endless sky, paddy fields and volcanos. The bale is also a perfect place for reading, reflecting or taking in one of our signature Big Love sunsets.
• A secluded yoga studio with an extensive hardwood floor, mirrored walls and a stunning view
• A dedicated artroom for the creatively minded and the creative wannabes. The studio space is communal, the inspiration is free.
• 2 acres of extensive gardens: Nature is everywhere at Big Love and we quickly become one with her ebb and flow. We live without shoes with the earth at our feet and we have created many special spots from which to reflect, meditate and commune.
Monitor lizards, our four resident labrador retrievers, two cats, and some very important bugs prowl the perimeter. Tropical flora give off intoxicating aromas and thousands of cicadas mark the end of the day.
