Villa Sanasuma is a beautiful private beachfront villa, set in an acre of tropical gardens and coconut grove. The house overlooks the Indian Ocean with a gate leading directly on to the beach. On the ground floor there is a open plan dining room, with a table that seats 8, and living room. Verandas on either side cool the rooms with a sea breeze. There are 3 bedrooms downstairs, 2 have ensuite shower rooms, with king size 4 poster beds and verandas with sea views, and there is one twin room which overlooks the front garden with a bathroom next door. The master bedroom on the first floor is ensuite and has a balcony with stunning views of the ocean.
There is no air conditioning but all the rooms have ceiling fans and mosquito nets.
There is a large swimming pool in the garden with sunbeds and umbrellas available. Please note the swimming pool has no fence or alarm, so children must be supervised. There is a outdoor dining pavilion with a table for 8 and barbeque and a smaller garden veranda by the pool. Other features include table tennis and a yoga pavilion a few metres from the beach.
The villa is staffed by resident couple, Duminda and Lalini, who will look after your needs. We do not allow guests to cook their own meals. Lalini will shop and cook any meals as discussed with her, including western food and Sri Lankan delicacies. She can be paid directly for the cooking and food. Coffee, tea and squash are available for free.
The property has a tuk-tuk and Jeep, both of which can be hired for trips out. Duminda can arrange sightseeing trips around the island. He has many years experience as a tour guide.
Air port transfers can be arranged - it is approximately a 2 hour drive to the villa. Parking space is available for rented cars.
There are 2 resident dogs, Lily and Toby. They are very friendly but can be kept away if you don't want dogs around.
