Travel Purpose: business

Positive: I stayed five nights in a comfortable and quiet one-bedroom bungalow (with bathroom) on the "l'Auberge 'in' Village" compound, which has two gated entrances, and is located half-way between the main road and the beach. There was an overhead mosquito-net, and small desk. The friendly staff was helpful, and helped me understand local logistics (taxi-brousse to Toliara was Ar. 8000). There is no secure lockbox in the room, but the manager can safely hold onto important documents/valuables. There is currently no restaurant (though I was told one is being built), but Chez Freddy is a few blocks away (very good, if relatively more expensive than other nearby places, for all three meals), and the best and most reasonable dinners (Marguerite/Capitain fish) that I had were at Chez Anita & Jacqueline (at the end of the road just off to the right of the main square with the large tree before the beach entrance).

Negative: Note: Google Maps shows the location as both "Auberg'inn" and "Hotel La Fleur de l'Auberge."
