Notre « cosy » gîte est situé à Labastide-Rouairoux, un village extrêmement paisible et charmant de la montagne noire, à la frontière du Tarn, de l'Hérault et de l'Aude. Il fait partie d'un parc naturel régional protégé. Il est entouré de paysages magnifiques, de nombreux lacs et de lieux de beauté et d'intérêt. Labastide-Rouairoux est un village qui a vécu de son industrie textile. Il possède un musée qui rappelle ces années merveilleuses et organise chaque année, au 15 août, une manifestation appelée « La Fête du Fil » pour commémorer les jours passés.
De juin à octobre, de nombreuses manifestations se déroulent à Labastide et dans ses environs. Notre village est propice à la pratique de la randonnée et du VTT. Les promenades à pied et à vélo ne manquent pas non plus. Surtout le long de la voie verte.
Près de chez nous, à 30 ou 45 minutes de route , il y a 6 grands lacs, qui offrent des promenades, des activités comme la natation, du pédalo, des petits bateaux à moteur, du paddle, des châteaux gonflables, du mini-golf et de l'accrobranche. Certains lacs sont pleins d'activités et de restaurants, tandis que d'autres sont tout simplement sauvages et entourés de nature.
Si vous aimez visiter des lieux, il y a beaucoup à voir, des musées (textile, peinture, chocolat, préhistoire, etc.), châteaux, cathédrales, villages moyenâgeux, promenades autour de beaux lacs, routes du vin etc.
Labastide-Rouairoux est également un paradis pour les randonneurs et les vététistes, avec de nombreuses randonnées autour du village, et bien d'autres dans les villages environnants. Il s'agit d'une ancienne voie ferrée qui a été transformée en un itinéraire exclusif pour les marcheurs, les cyclistes et les chevaux. Elle s'étend sur plusieurs kilomètres, de Mazamet à Bédarieux.
Vous pouvez pêcher la truite sans permis à Fraïsse sur Agout, un beau village de montagne.
