The view from behind the house takes in the ascending canal, a fountain and the spectacular folly. Walk the grass pathways past pleached lime and cypress trees. Relax with a drink in the exotic Japanese garden overlooking the fish that glide serenely in the ornamental ponds. A gas BBQ allows you to cook and eat al fresco around the chunky garden table then play a little croquet on the top lawn by the entrance. Be transfixed by the trickle of water from the ornamental waterfall. Once used for hunting, these grounds are now a place to track down only quiet contemplation and a sort of spiritual serenity.
The medieval entrance hall provides a wonderful reception area with its magnificent original fireplace and an unlimited supply of logs. The magnificent drawing room on the first floor with its impressive wall hangings and welcoming large open fire allows a wonderful vista to the beautifully designed Folly at the Larmer Tree Gardens, this room is full of period features and perfect for entertaining and pre-dinner drinks.
Six of the seven bedrooms can be arranged as zip and link twins or super kingsize. The Master bedroom provides a half tester canopy, kingsize bed, dressing area and contemporary en-suite with large walk in shower.
There is also a travel cot and two high chairs if required.
