The cottage of Luffness Castle, which has been completely modernised, used to be the house of one of the gardeners at the castle of Luffness. The view from its windows is over a field where sheep graze, often accompanied by deer. Beyond the field is Aberlady Bay, its nature reserve and a path leading to beautiful beaches. The sunsets are particularly memorable.
Golf is the prime reason why many people come to East Lothian. There are eleven golf courses, all of whom welcome visitors, within five miles of Luffness with many more further afield. There are also many other attractions for the visitor. The beaches and dunes at Gullane are particularly attractive for children. The Ornithological Centre in Aberlady, the Museum of Flight at Athelstaneford and the Seabird Centre at North Berwick are only three of many others.

Summary: We have spent three days in the wonderful Cottage. It was well equipped and everything (heating, kitchen utensils etc.) worked well. You can park your car directly in front of the cottage. The view from the windows in the living room is magnificent. The cottage is located in the castle park of the very friendly owners Mr and Mrs Hope. Both gave us a warm welcome and encouraged us to take a look around and enjoy the castle grounds with its impressive fruit and rose gardens, meadows and pond. The cottage is a good starting point for trips to Edinburgh and there is a supermarket about 10 minutes away by car. We highly recommend the house and its owners!
