Over Across is a characterful cottage set over multiple levels, stepping inside; two steps lead you down into the kitchen, which is well equipped and ready for you to create family meals to share. There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor as well as the family bathroom. Up on the first floor is the master double bedroom as well as a twin room with a small single bed and a five foot cabin bed which is suitable only for children beneath a beamed ceiling. The living room is also on the ground floor, beneath the high beamed ceiling you have a three-seater sofa as well as two armchairs nestled around the electric stove and TV. The cottage is a couple of miles outside of the peaceful village of Cloughton, which has two friendly local pubs, serving lovely homemade meals. The nearest coastal spot is Hayburn Wyke, where you have a woodland walk with a waterfall cascading over the cliff top onto a secluded cove. There is an 18th-century coaching inn here, serving hearty meals as well as tasty desserts in front of a roaring open fire. The Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track are scenic walking trails nearby, taking in Ravenscar and Robin Hood’s Bay on the way towards the seafaring town of Whitby.
The North Yorkshire Moors National Park has some delightful little villages amongst the vast stretches of heather strewn hills and valleys. There is also the ancient Dalby Forest which has brilliant cycle and walking trails to be explored.
