Come relax and unwind on the shores of Lake Wylie. Located roughly 15 minutes outside of Charlotte, this beautifully appointed 800 square foot “in-law” apartment offers its guests safety, privacy, modern finishes and sweeping waterfront views. Complete with a private entrance and parking, Wylie’s Waterfront Weetreat invites up to 4 guests the exclusive use of a full kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room.
The space
This apartment is attached to our house but because it has a separate front entrance, it is completely private from the main living area.
Upon entering into a small but well appointed kitchen with granite and stainless appliances, you will be immediately drawn into the attached open concept living room complete with queen-sized pull out couch, large flat screen TV and small dining table. Light blocking curtains line 2 large sliding glass doors that open onto a small backyard, covered dock and amazing lake views. Stairs by the front door lead you up to a bedroom with queen bed and separate bathroom with stand up shower. All kitchen utensils and cooking supplies, linens and towels will be provided.
Guest access
Parking is offered along the apartment side of the property, adjacent to the black fence that boarders the yard. There is room for up to 2 vehicles to park in tandem. Please park as close to the fence as possible; our neighbor’s property line is close to this driveway and they do not appreciate cars on their side of that line (insert eye-roll emoji here).
There is a private front entrance that is accessed with a custom code to lock/unlock the front door, as well as 2 sliding glass doors that can be opened onto a shared back yard. We will send a front door code and check in instructions within 24 hours of your arrival.
Other things to note
Our main house is an active one during the day but it goes silent by 10pm (often much earlier). While guests may hear chatter from the yard or dock or the occasional dog barking, they can expect quiet by ‘bedtime’.
Because this is a shared property with waterfront access and children on premises, we ask that the guests staying in the apartment do not bring other guests back to the property. Additionally, loud partying and late night noise is not permitted.
Wylie is our F1B 1-year-old mini-goldendoodle. He weighs 23 lbs and is friendly but may greet you with a friendly bark. While he is mostly an inside dog, his presence on the property is non-negotiable so guests must be prepared to meet him when coming or going. He is none shedding and hypoallergenic.
Guests will find a binder in the kitchen that offers dining and activity suggestions as well as helpful household information as well as check out procedures. They may also reach out to us if more specific info is needed.
Each guest will be required to sign a liability waiver upon arrival regardless of their intent to use the waterfront in any manner.
We have purchased a brand new (green) Stand Up Paddle Board and a (red) 1-person Kayak for our guests to enjoy. They are located in gray covers on the dock, along with their respective paddles. Additionally, we can provide a 2-person kayak if so desired. Please return and secure them to the dock when done as the winds can blow hard and we’d hate to loose them. If you need help, don’t hesitate to ask!
Life vests are a must when swimming, using the kayaks or SUP.
