Kingfisher House sits on banks of the Gastineau Channel. The front of the home gives way to the lush tide grass of the Mendenhall Wildlife Reserve. Beyond is a world class view of the Mendenhall Glacier and surrounding mountains. This setting makes the home both a great place to base your Alaska adventures and a wonderful place to relax in nature.
Hike or fish right from the front door.
Popular fishing spots include right out front in the Gastineau Channel, a half mile away at Fish Creek and three miles away at Picnic Cove. All are easily accessible and successful spots.
We have furnished the home with good quality furniture. Likewise all beds and linens are new and good quality.
The home has four bedrooms and sleeps nine easily.
The master bedroom suite is on the second floor, it includes two separate sinks and shower and a sitting area with probably the best views in the house. Also on the second floor are two other bedrooms which share a full bath with a jetted Jacuzzi tub. Both are spacious, one having a queen bed and the other a queen and a single. Both have water views.
The first floor is barrier free including the 4th bedroom, which doubles as a media room when not used as a bedroom. Upon request we will add a standard queen bed to the room. It is big enough that it is still quite usable as a tv room.
The kitchen includes a breakfast nook and seating at an island. Top quality cookware and all utensils needed for home cooking are available.
The dinning table seats eight and like every area of the home has a terrific view.
Decks to either side of the house provide a relaxing place to take in the views. Enjoy morning coffee or the beautiful sunsets.
