Positive: The location was fine for me - I was merely traveling up the interstate and had reached the point I needed to stop. The staff (both when I checked in & checked out) went out of their way to be helpful. They do leave @ 10PM - as they had called me to let me know when I'd not yet checked in by 8PM. The facility is BRAND NEW, as I expected when I saw several reviews and all were 5 stars. (Opened @ mid June 2025). There was a nice small gym (all I needed). A good sized kitchen (full fridge, stove, microwave, no dishwasher, lots of cabinets). Some thought was put into bathroom accessibility, with grab bars and a "seat" across the tub. (See pic attached) Bathroom was fully furnished with all expected, though a 2 star level of linens. The price was terrific for the value! Not sure I'd feel the same in a couple of years after some wear and tear, but it's in great shape right now and feels like a great bargain. I paid $77 when other comparable rooms were closer to $100. A final note about staff - I was totally taken aback there was no ice machine, nor any kitchen supplies (unlike any other extended stay I'd been in before) and was whining about no ice and the staff offered me a (new) ice cube tray (doesn't take care of evening desire for ice, but at least I had some in the morning), and then called me a few minutes later to say she was heading to the nearby gas station and would I like her to buy me a bag of ice (for which I'd need to pay her) - I thought this was a VERY nice way of trying to make a guest as happy as possible under the circumstances. The AM clerk also offered to hold doors and other gestures of extra goodwill.
Negative: I did not realize it was not going to have ice machines!! If there'd only been an ice machine I'd have been happy, or even ice cube trays and kitchen supplies. This is a modest, extended stay with a focus intended for those staying longer term, but not permanent. Those staying who want to use the kitchen need to bring or buy kitchenware, such as dishes, silverware, pots, kitchen dishsoap, sponge, etc. themselves. THERE IS NO FREE BREAKFAST (not a problem for me, but might be for others). Also,the hanging area for clothes was not high enough (perhaps this was an accessible room?) for my dresses, which were normal length, to hang without hitting the floor. A coat would have been several inches too long. Finally, unlike most new buildings, apparently in SC accessible door openers for the front door are not required. This made getting the cart in by yourself a bit frustrating when unloading the car. And the security "push to exit" into the lobby was a very short window so I had to push it a couple times to get it open timely. Perhaps they'll have procedures in place if they get someone who is significantly disabled - the room itself is clearly designed with disabled access in mind.
